What types of accidents are we talking about?

First of all, it is essential to define what we are really talking about. The lesions that interest us today are related injuries impacts of our body during some sports activities. The various impacts relating to the jumps, with a small load of its weight, type of race, rope for jumps, burpees, jump jump … in medical jargon we also call it «Constraints». They are the ones who cause repeated microtrauma and weighs on our bones.

You also know this famous phrase: «This year is decided, I enter the sport !!» ? You know, at this moment when we are full of ambition, full of goodwill, overcoming to overcome ourselves and give us in our new goals !! And there, disaster … fracture of fatigue, muscle injuries, tendonitis and so on. Your body is not well prepared, you want to go too fast, too strong and it is at this precise moment that you risk getting hurt.

But don’t panic! Good news: your bones are solid, They are made to move, jump and are able to accurately receive this type of constraint.

Any pain you may consider is not systematically connected to a deep injury. Everyone knows small bones pains for the effort but pass in a few days!

I know you will tell me: but then when you worry? How to distinguish between small bone pain and a greater injury that would require special care?

Well it is common sensesimply!

  • The bone pain of efforts will simply be a small pain that gradually arrives during the effort and that surrender to rest. In this case, not enough for panic.
  • If this is not the case and bone pain increases only and even at rest, at that moment you have to consult!
  • In the event that you have a little pain that reaches the effort, it surrenders to rest and systematically returns during the effort: Don’t worry but don’t neglect it No longer and try to understand why there are too many constraints in this sector.

Many factors can be involved:

  • Overflow
  • Bad posture
  • Bad preparation
  • Poor equipment
  • Bad surface to run
  • Bad racing technique
  • Listen to your body : As we said, it’s common sense. We know our body, we can hear when we forced a little, that there is something warning us. You have to know how to take a step back and qualify it all, it is not because we have a little pain that you have to stop systematically! In addition, the notion of pain is different for everyone, depending on their perception, their experience, etc., evolution of pain, evolution of tissues, aging …
  • Know as a dose: One of the most important things in sport, dosage! Yes, the body is made to move, to make efforts, jump, run and contrary to what one might think, the impacts are not necessarily harmful to the body. The bone is a living tissue that evolves over the years, which is consolidated and ages. It is precisely by soliciting them and forcing them to be able to forge, build stronger and develop their skills. But obviously nothing happens. The key? Progress !! And time, to prepare your body and adapt your sporting practice.
  • Make suitable training : With the right shoes, the good field, a sport adapted to our morphology. For example, everyone thinks they know how to run but they know that it can be learned! The most important thing in all this is not the fear of the panic of the lesions !! After all It’s okay to hurt youIt’s part of the game! So yes, everything depends on the type of trauma and a certain pain can take more time to spend, but it is also thanks to what we reconstruct and we can correct the shot.

Personally my wound with crossed ligaments taught me a lot about myself and my understanding of my body! Thanks to this, today I have a better balance in my sporting practice. I was able to adapt my routine by putting more stretching, learning to treat joints … Finally, even getting hurt is progressing!

So go ahead, do sports, listen to yourself, dose and above all how! 😉
